Cristina Palca came to the U.S. with a goal: to combine her business experience in her native country of Romania with an advanced degree and start a successful career here. To achieve her plans, she needed to improve her English to prepare for university and American business life.
Soon, Cristina will be just one class away from her master’s degree in accounting at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). She credits her academic success to the English foundation she got at IEI when she studied here in 2007.
“Everything that I had learned at IEI was helpful,” she says, “but I loved the grammar classes the best. They helped me improved my English to a level that I didn’t have any problems taking a graduate class.”
Cristina also recalls the close relationships she built with other students and teachers at IEI. “Everyone is so nice there,” she says. She stays in touch with her IEI friends, some of whom also study now at MTSU.
Cristina is married and has two sons. She and her family live in Hermitage, Tennessee.
