- Give yourself lots of time to study — Don’t try to learn everything the night before your exam. Your mind will retain much more information if you study a little each day for many days.
- Ask for help if you need it—American teachers welcome questions outside of class, and many will give you extra assistance or help you to find a tutor. Also, try studying with friends — discussing the vocabulary, grammar, and other information you’re learning makes it stick in your mind better.
- Take care of your body — Eating healthy foods, exercising regularly, and limiting caffeine and alcohol will give you more energy and make it easier to focus your mind.
- Get enough sleep — This is especially important the night before your exam. Go to bed a little early so that you can wake up refreshed and ready to conquer your exam.
